Act! DPI Fix

Act! DPI Fix

surface4

The internet gives us so many amazing things:  adorable kitten videos, snarky memes, and a FIX that really works to the large DPI issue with Act!!

Thanks to ADS Programming Services and Stan Smith for digging up this little nugget and sharing.  Stan stumbled upon this in the Act! Community  from a user that goes by the handle JagStyles.  This fix takes your slick high DPI device, like your Microsoft Surface Pro, and makes it as pretty as it should be with Act!.

Here is the executable Stan bundled for us this weekend – www.snapintools.com/DPI/DPIFix.exe.   Please note that it does run like a regular installer but it nothing is placed in Add/Remove Programs.  If you have any issues, of course drop us a line and we’ll be happy to help – mscott@3LeafCRM.com.

Here is the original post, if you want the full back story:

High DPI Fix for Act!

A user on the Community forums who goes by JagStyles has posted a fix for the display issues with Act! on high resolution monitors and I have tested it on my Microsoft Surface Book and I am now using the Surface Book at 3000×2000 DPI and with the text at 200% and Act! looks great. I haven’t found any issues yet with running Act! after applying the fix but I just tried it again last night and got it working with the new manifest that he posted so I can’t say for sure that everything works properly but I suspect almost everything if not everything will work properly with the updated manifest. I have created a video to demonstrate how to apply the fix. Here is the link:

www.snapintools.com/DPI

The video is named DPI.mp4 but you will need to right click on it and save it to your PC to play it. I have also attached it to this post but I’ve never actually posted a video to Facebook so I don’t know how well that is going to work.

If you disabled high DPI in the compatibility properties you will need to enable it again. All of the compatibility properties are unchecked on my system.

Let me know what you think of the video. I’m planning on doing videos for all of my SnapInTools as well.

If you decide to test it let me know how it goes.

Stan

Thanks again, internet!

I've been in the CRM business since 1999. Prior to that, I was in marketing - focused on brand marketing. Whether you use one of the "big name" CRM products or a shoebox, I firmly believe that CRM is a process more than a software.
