The end of Act! Connect

“How can I get Act! on my phone?”  “Can you put Act! on my iPad?”  These are things we hear quite often.  For a while, one of those options was Act! Connect.  Swiftpage (the makers of Act!) have announced the discontinuation of Act! Connect as of May 31, 2014.

 

Act! Connect is, at least for the moment, a subscription-based mobile add-on for Act!.  We don’t dare call it a mobile “solution” since, as it’s retirement indicates, it wasn’t much of a success.  The upside is, any existing Act! Connect subscriber will be moved over to Handheld Contact (http://bit.ly/1nw4TwG) for the balance of your Connect contract.  Another bonus is that Handheld Contact is now the go-to mobile sync add-on solution for Act!.  (Not to be confused with Act! Premium Mobile, which is part of Act! Premium.  Act! Premium Mobile is accessed via mobile web browser and gives you live access to your Act! database.  Handheld Contact (HHC) is an app on your mobile device and syncs data to that device.)  If you are a Business Care subscriber (Silver or Gold level) you’ll get 50% off your Handheld Contact subscription.  (If you don’t have Business Care, give us a shout, we may be able to help you add that.)

 

So, things to note:

  • Act! Connect service ends May 31, 2014
  • Existing Act! Connect subscribers will receive HHC for the balance of their contracts
  • Silver & Gold Business Care subscribers receive 50% off of HHC
